Emily’s time in Paris is getting steamier and more complicated.
The trailer for season four the of Emily in Paris is here, and if the two-minute preview is any indication, the question of who Lily Collins’ titular character ends up with has no easy answer.
And with season three leaving Emily single after ending her relationship with Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) and Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) seemingly off the market after it’s revealed his ex Cami (Camille Razat) is pregnant, the world looks to be Emily’s oyster.
“Oh my god, Mindy,” Emily says to her BFF (played by Ashley Park), who is seemingly in the shower, in the trailer’s opening sequence. “Do you know what I saw on my run? Hot men. Everywhere. I guess I’ve just been so focused on Gabriel and Alfie, that I forgot what it feels like to be single.”
And when she adds, “And now that I’m not with either of them—” the shower curtain opens to reveal it’s been Gabriel listening the whole time. He then hopefully asks, “You’re not with Alfie?”
But despite Mindy pointing out that the path to being with Gabriel seems clear for the first time, Emily reminds her he is, “The man who is having a baby with the woman who is in love with another woman. And I’m the only one who knows about it.”
Because everything is not so simple as it seems.
As the rest of the trailer shows, the fourth installment of Emily in Paris sees her and Alfie’s breakup go viral, complicating Emily’s work life, her professional and personal relationship with Julian (Samuel Arnold) grow more strained and confrontations between herself, Gabriel and Cami.
In fact in one particularly heated moment, when the chef tells Emily he is “so sick of the secrets,” she yells back, “So am I.”
So instead, Emily decides to open herself up to the opportunities, telling Mindy, “Maybe I’m someone who’s ready for new experiences.”
Embracing the unknown is not always an easy path though, as her boss Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) says, “I’ve been living in the gray area all my life. I didn’t picture you embracing it.”
But while she tells Sylvie she’s trying, the American expat is struggling to leave her past behind. “I really thought I could move on from them,” Emily can be heard saying. “But they both mean so much to me for different reasons.”
Yet, perhaps season four will finally bring Emily’s forever love triangle to a close. After all, the trailer ends with a tease of a masquerade ball, where Emily sees both Lucien and Gabriel waiting for her, before setting her sights on one of the two—or perhaps a new romantic option—with a smile that looks like she’s finally made a decision.
Just who Emily ultimately picks, and the events that led her heart there, will remain a mystery until parts one and two of Emily in Paris season four premiere on August 15 and September 12.
Until then, keep reading for first-look images of the upcoming season.
Eugenio Franceschini plays Rome native Marcello, who is direct, confident and values simplicity. He's substantive but never flashy—true to the roots of his family's company.
Thalia Besson plays Genevieve: Laurent's 20-something daughter from a past relationship, who's just moved from New York City to Paris to start her career. Her bright, eager demeanor immediately endears her to Emily, who’s thrilled to have an American expat to mentor. But their similarities may end up complicating Emily's life—both professionally and personally.

Judging by this photo, Emily will find herself in another juocy predicament.
Gabriel's career looks hotter than ever.
Julian has a promising new marketing campaign.
It definitely seems there's still drama between Emily and Camille over their mutual love interest Gabriel.
After all, this furred out look is nothing short of show-stopping.
Antoine Lambert knows how to serve a look, and this blue suit is no exception.
Leave it to Emily to prove winter fashion can be as head-turning as it is practical.
Or both? It seems to be a fine line as Emily and Gabriel raise a glass with friends, looking extra cozy together.
This historical-looking ensemble might just require some added context only season four can provide. Or, it's just Emily being Emily.
From the looks of this, it doesn't look like things have thawed between Camille and Emily.
Meanwhile, Emily and Alfie look rather comfortable for being recently broken up.
To see just who is the source of Sylvie's indecipherable look (is that lust? amusement? indifference?), we'll just have to wait and see.
Julien and Luc are back at it again at Agence Grateau.
Emily and Mindy are looking like two peas in a pod—or should we say two peas in a particularly colorful pod? Yet, we'd expect nothing less from the fashion on Emily in Paris.
Speaking of fashion, Emily is looking particularly chic in this blue ensemble set against the backdrop of a gorgeous Villa.
And of course, Emily has the perfect outfit.
